The BAPS Green Clean

The BAPS Green clean aims to minimize the carbon footprint whilst maintaining a clean, comfortable and healthy working environment for the clients and employees. We proceed through by carefully selecting equipment and products and settling in conventional cleaning procedures to reduce our environmental impact.

Goals:

BAPS will endeavour to balance environmental and financial responsibilities in purchasing green products. We will promote the purchase of products, with the highest percentage of recycled content available, provided that the products meet acceptable use and performance standards.

Factors Considered in developing Green cleaning standards:

• Best practice to clean and maintain sustainable buildings
• Use of sustainable products
• Use of chemical concentrates and controlled dilution systems
• Use of equipment that does not have a threat to the environment
• Training of cleaning personnel in Green cleaning procedures

Roles and Responsibilities:

Management

• Benchmark and evaluate procedures in order to provide best practices and achieve objectives.
• Develop cleaning schedules and approaches which would persuade workers to concentrate more on their task.
• Make certain that cleaning staff understands the goals and objectives of the green cleaning procedures.

Cleaning Staff

• Attend site training and testing units
• Obtain certification (asset management certificates III) for the testing units
• Pursue recognized cleaning schedule and procedures
• Report any violation of cleaning standards and procedures

Facility cleaning strategies

• Ensure cleaning products are used effectively and efficiently
• Preserve calm and safe site facilities
• Maintain equipment to reduce the impact on interior air quality
• Amend schedules and events to match the changing complication of buildings
• Minimize waste by using certified products that reduce dumping or recycling costs

Purchasing Green Products

BAPS green purchasing policy demonstrates our commitment to environmental sustainability. By purchasing "Green" products, we aim to play a momentous role in the development of environmental sustainability for all the sites we operate in.

BAPS uses agar chemicals' especially formulated Green range of phosphate-free, biodegradable cleaning chemicals, in combination with low energy equipment such as using mops without buckets. This ensures no harmful chemicals are released in to the environment and that the use of electricity and water is reduced.

Green Purchasing

Green purchasing is the practice of obtaining goods and services that causes the least threat to, the environment and the living beings that depend upon it for survival. Green products are those manufactured with more environmentally-friendly materials or which are manufactured and utilised with the least impact to the environment.

BAPS will strive to purchase materials that are:

• Durable and non-disposable
• Non-toxic, preferably biodegradable
• Highly energy-efficient
• Recyclable
• Made from raw materials obtained in an environmentally friendly, sustainable manner
• Causes no environmental damage whilst using or maintaining
• Shipped with minimal packaging (consistent with care of the product), made of recycled and/or recyclable materials
• Products that meet the above criteria will be considered as Green products, and thus will be promoted to be purchased

Purchasing Procedures

BAPS will communicate with our suppliers on, at least a quarterly basis to inform ourselves of new products that fulfills our "Green" criteria. Upon completion of this review, new product may be targeted for inclusion in green purchasing initiatives.
